Clickety Split has changed a great deal behind the scenes.

What began as a collection of keyboard designs, experiments, and shared build resources is gradually becoming something more focused: a small family of thoughtfully developed products, supported by cleaner firmware, better documentation, and a more sustainable foundation for the future.

MNML is leading that transition, with Chiisai following closely behind. At the same time, we have been modernizing the infrastructure that supports existing Clickety Split keyboards — including new public ZMK modules, configuration templates, and browser-based firmware build workflows.

The goal is simple: make Clickety Split hardware easier to own, easier to maintain, and easier to support for the long term.

There is plenty more to come.

Clickety Split is moving steadily toward its next generation of hardware.

MNML has now completed a major production-readiness milestone. The 3×5, 3×6, and new 4×6 versions have been validated with their production firmware, USB identities, wireless operation, displays, power systems, and updated public ZMK support.

The MNML 4×6 enclosure has also completed its first physical fit test successfully, bringing the newest member of the family another step closer to finished hardware.

Chiisai remains an active part of the next generation of Clickety Split hardware and continues to move forward alongside MNML.

There is still work ahead before everything reaches general availability, but the pieces are increasingly becoming finished products rather than experiments.
